surveyDescriptionState of Vermont Windsor County, ss IN RE: DISCONTINUANCE OF TOWN HIGHWAY NO. 71 ORDER The above matter was heard by the Selectmen of the Town of Hartland at Daman Hall, in the Town of Hartland, County of Windsor and State of Vermont, at 7:30 P.M. on Thursday, October 9, 1969, in accordance with notice in the following form: “The Selectmen of the Town of Hartland, a municipal corporation having its situs at Hartland, in the County of Windsor and State of Vermont, will meet at Damon Hall in that Town at 7:30 P.M. on Thursday, October 9, A. D. 1969 for the purpose of hearing all interested parties on the question of whether they should discontinue as a public highway that portion of Town Highway No. 71 beginning at the intersection of that highway with the public highway running from Hartland Four Corners to Woodstock and commonly known as Town Highway No. 22 on the easterly line of land of Constantin A. Pertzoff and the westerly line of land of Constantin A. Constantin A. Pertzoff and continuing northerly to the private yard of Constantin A. Pertzoff. Dated at Hartland this 8th day of September, A. D. 1969. Selectmen of the Town of Hartland Harold W. Harbour Charles R. French William E. Campbell ” A copy of that notice was posted in the town Clerk’s office in Damon Hall on September 9, 1969. Copies of notice were also sent by registered mail to Mr. Constantin A. Pertzoff on September 9, 1969 and return receipt showing receipt of the notice was received from him and on September 24, 1969 to the Hartland Planning Commission, Attention of Cordelia Newton , Chairman. A copy of the notice was published in the VALLEY NEWS on September 26, 1969. At the hearing there were present Selectmen Harold R. Barbour, Charles R. French and Page 2 of 2 William E. Campbell and Town Manager Walter R. Hazard. No objection to the discontinuance of said highway was made by anyone and no claim for damages was asserted by anyone. Therefore, we, the said Selectmen judge that the public good requires that said highway be discontinued and said highway is herby discontinued. Dated at Hartland, in the County of Windsor and State of Vermont this 15th day of December, A. D. 1969.
